Dr. Lissa C. Baird is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School, the Fellows Family Chair in Neurosurgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, Co-Director of the Brain Tumor Center and Director of Neurosurgical Oncology at Boston Children’s/Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Co-Director of the Skull Base Program. She received her medical degree from Columbia University, followed by residency and chief residency at UC San Diego Medical Center. She completed fellowship training in skull base and cerebrovascular neurosurgery at LSU health Science Center and pediatric neurosurgery at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Baird is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. Her scientific research has focused on neuro-oncology and clinical outcomes of children with brain tumors. She has authored several national clinical guidelines for the practice of pediatric neurosurgery and is actively involved in national scientific and leadership committees.
She specializes in the care of children with neurologic disorders of the brain and spine, with specific expertise in complex brain tumor and skull base surgery, including endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques. Together with a team of multidisciplinary colleagues, she leads one of the nation’s most established and comprehensive programs dedicated to the care of children with complex brain, skull base, and spine tumors.
